According to the Population Health Alliance, “Engagement in health is when an individual performs sustained actions towards achieving optimal health and well-being.” Recently, PHA convened a group of thought leaders to identify how technology can drive engagement in health and the types of technology that are enhancing our reach and impact as we work to engage individuals in their health and healthcare. This paper outlines the types of technologies which may be used to support population health programs, provide guidance on how technology may be incorporated into an overall engagement strategy, identify ways to measure engagement using these tools, and list the practical considerations when incorporating technology into your engagement strategy.

The Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) and Population Health Alliance (PHA) recently published Program Measurement and Evaluation Guide: Core Metrics for Employee Health Management, a core set of metrics for the evaluation of employee health management programs.
This document identifies and offers insight into the various questions that surround the creation and utilization of incentives, including the role of organizational culture in an incentive design program, the relevance of psychomotivational theory and how it helps drive decisions regarding types of incentives, incentive designs currently being utilized in the industry, budgetary considerations, emerging issues and evaluation strategies for incentive programs.
This toolkit was developed to address the management of obesity by all stakeholders including medical providers, employers, and payers. Surveyed users indicated the need for tools to enable conversations between primary care providers and their patients.
This Guide was developed to inform and guide the implementation of key components of population health and specific strategies and suggestions for primary care-centered models to embed the components into their practice. In addition, this Guide offers suggestions and resources on measuring the impact of these efforts from both a cost and a quality perspective.
